Article Submissions Guidelines
Style & Publication Format:
- JSIRS will be published bi-annually in April and October of each year by Oxford Graduate School
- Each issue will be thematically driven relative to integrative concerns with religion and society (e.g. financial ethics, end of life issues, etc.)
- Each issue will consist of three to four articles, 4,000-8,000 word count
- Each issue will consist of four or five book reviews (500-1000 word count)
- Each issue will contain 3 new book notices (100-150 word count)
- Each issue will contain 3 academic journal article reviews (300-500 word count)
- Issues will be approximately 100-120 pages in length
- Submissions need to be sent as a Word attachment file.
- All articles and submissions need to follow APA 6th edition.
- The editor-in-chief, and other editorial staff, reserve the right to edit submissions for length, clarity, style and other general considerations to accommodate normally expected published materials associated with peer-reviewed, scholarly writing.
ONLINE SUBMISSIONS:
Distribution of the Journal:
- Select institutions affiliated with TRACS, ABHE, and ATS will receive stipulated hard copies for institutional libraries for each issue.
- JSIRS will offer hard copies for sale as individual volumes or subscription packages for online journal, hard copies, conferences, and Congregational Weekend at Oxford Graduate School.
- JSIRS is seeking acceptance for data research bases with ATLA, JSTOR, andChristian Periodical Index.
- Deadlines for April issue is February 15.
- Deadlines for October issue is August 15.
