Since 1980, Omega Graduate School has served world-changers. World changers recognize their career as a calling, strive to serve God by making a difference in the world, and care about leading social change. We have equipped hundreds of adult learners over the past 40 years with the skills to conduct original social research to solve problems in communities, families, organizations, and churches around the globe.

We offer a Doctor of Philosophy degree in Social Research (Religion and Society Studies),Doctor of Social Leadership, two Master’s degrees (Organizational Leadership and Family Life Education),and a Graduate Certificate in Gracism Studies (Faith-Based Diversity and Inclusion).

OGS teaches the practical skills of social research for leading social change. Omega Graduate School uses the Oxford Method for Educating Graduate-level Adult-learners. Using a European tutorial educational process patterned after the world’s top universities, we provide a personalized and relationally-oriented learning experience.

Omega Graduate School is an independent, free-standing research institution committed to providing a quality educational experience for Christian adults. Founded in 1980, it is located on a campus near Dayton, Tennessee (between Knoxville and Chattanooga). Omega Graduate School is non-denominational, non-profit, and non-discriminatory.

The institutional goal is the integration of religion and society.  The goal includes increasing morality and ethics in business and industry and advancing Christian principles and values in society. The doctoral program is designed to teach research focused on the family, community, church, or a combination of these areas. The master’s program is offered in two curricular areas: Family Life Education and Organizational Leadership.

Jerry Flemming, DPhil

Jerry Fleming, DPhil
Business Leader
Jerry Fleming has served as the CEO of three companies, including Pioneer Mfg. Inc., which he owns and chairs.  His dissertation focused on the relationship between the morality and the earnings of publicly held companies.  As an OGS alumnus, Dr. Fleming’s current focus is CEO of THE STEM FOUNDATION, a Christian Ministry that installs computer labs in orphanages and Christian schools in underdeveloped areas in Central America and the Caribbean.  The ministry’s goals are to give kids a broader worldview and opportunities they would not have otherwise.

Sharlene Buszka, DPhil

Sharlene Buszka, DPhil
Professor, Author
Sharlene Buszka is an Associate Professor of Business Administration at Daemen College in Amherst, New York.  She is also Chair of the Accounting, Business Administration and Paralegal degree programs.  As a 2015 Graduate of Omega Graduate School, her dissertation Factors Affecting the Integration of Faith and Spirituality in the College Workplace, received the Grail Award for Research Quality.

Kim Alexander, DPhil

Leadership Developer
Kimberly Nash Alexander is a native Charlottean and is the “Leading Lady of The Park Church, where she also serves as the leader of Women’s Ministry.  Dr. Alexander is currently a recommended mentor by Dr. Alicia Britt Chole as part of the Leadership Investment Intensive Program.  She devotes herself to mentoring women in leadership in both the marketplace and the church, focusing on spiritual formation.

Ken Steorts, DPhil

Dr. Ken Steorts, a 2014 graduate of OGS, is a founding guitarist of the Christian rock band, Skillet, and is the founder/president of Visible Music College in Memphis, Tennessee.  Visible focuses on young creative leaders’ spiritual, professional, and academic development.  “Visible School” was inspired by the German theologian Bonhoeffer who described Christian believers as a “visible community” infiltrating the darkness, bringing light into the world that cannot be hidden.
